Launched in 2363 under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the U.S.S Enterprise was the flagship of Starfleet. The Enterprise-D was fatally damaged in battle over Veridian III. Although its Saucer Section crash-landed on the planet surface, the crew survived with light casualties. The senior officers were reassigned to the Enterprise-E.
